Thanks.

I have discovered that the problem is caused by the particular URL that a colleague had constructed to link to a paper in the Journal of Advanced Nursing on the Wiley Online platform. This is the URL that caused the problem:

http://ezproxy.mdx.ac.uk/login?=http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jan.12369/abstract

I found that the EZProxy link to this journal in our library catalogue is working fine, and there is no problem accessing the paper in question. In fact, this link actually does the job:

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com.ezproxy.mdx.ac.uk/doi/10.1111/jan.12369/abstract

So what I would like to understand is why the first link results in being asked to authenticate when on-campus, and the second link does not, and actually works to deliver the paper?

We're still using an older stanza -- access indicators and logo are visible via EZproxy today when I force authentication in my browser.

Near the top of our config we have:

Hi,

The problem I'm having with Wiley Online Library is that I am being asked to authenticate whether I am on campus or off. There is a further problem that occurs after I have authenticated but I'd like to find out why I am being asked to authenticate on-campus first.

The stanza I have is that found for Wiley Online on the OCLC EZProxy support pages:

I have tried reducing the above to:

but the same problem occurs.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
