Problem with accessing PubMed MyNCBI off-campus

Hello,

Users are receiving an SSL error with the MyNCBI feature of PubMed when you log in from off-campus through EZproxy. Please see attached PowerPoint presentation for screenshots of the process and the error messages the user receives.

The EZproxy stanza from OCLC says "The MyNCBI feature in PubMed uses https which requires that SSL configuration has been performed on your EZproxy server." I know we have this configured. This appears to be the same issue happening with ClinicalKey, the only difference is when you try to click through to MyNCBI it won't let you access the feature at all. The connection is totally refused. At least with ClinicalKey you could access it after clicking through the error message. Is there any way we can get access to this feature through EZ Proxy off-campus?

Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks,
Pammy

Pamela,
This is the exact error/sequence that we had here at USC about a week ago. It was caused by PubMed. Check your message file and see if you've any of these messages;

I just checked and we are currently working properly, so it likely is not the identical issue. The only other thing I can think of is the stanza at OCLC has two find/replace statements below my signature block. Make sure they're in your stanza.

Hi Brian,

I checked our message file and it has that message but the most recent date on them is April 2014.

The find/replace statements are already in the stanza. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely,
Pammy

Pamela,
Sometimes I find these sorts of problems clear up with a server reboot. Are you running locally or hosted?
