Our systems people noticed a "dls-monitor" service running on port 2048 on
our Linux server, and wondered if it had anything to do with EZproxy. Does
anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

Did they notice a process named "dls-monitor," or did they just notice
that the dls-monitor port is responding? EZproxy uses port 2048, and on
most systems, port 2048 is associated the service name dls-monitor, so it
could appear that dls-monitor is running when it is not.

As root, you can use:

netstat -lp

to confirm that it is just EZproxy on that port.

Just wait until they notice EZproxy using port 2064. Many systems have a
colorful name assigned for this port.
