Discussion:
Sample config.txt w/alumni group

Hello,

Forgive me if this is a bit of a dumb question. I¹m working to set up
alumni access and have read through the various previous listserv
discussions, as well as the official documentation. I¹ve successfully
tested access using a dummy alumni patron ‹ by this I mean, in our test
EZProxy instance I can use the Test LDAP web form to confirm that things
are set up properly in user.txt. I can see, if I log in using this dummy
alumni patron and go to http://[our ezproxy test instance]/mygroups, that
I am in the right group.

What I¹m missing here is how to correctly set up the few alumni-accessible
databases in config.txt. Would anyone care to post their working
config.txt to help me figure out where I need to make changes? In our case
we have alumni access to just two things: Project Muse, and ATLA Religion
Database with ATLASerials.

Also, for those who¹ve gotten this process already figured out, how do you
actually provide the access to alumni once you¹ve got EZProxy set up and
authenticating properly? I think I¹m missing some obvious things so again,
bear with me.

Thanks,

Steve

Thank you to Kathleen Smith, who contact me with a helpful email off list
in reply to my previous question.

I’ve looked at this issue again and think the problem lies with user.txt
rather than config.txt. I’m struggling with setting up the authentication
properly and would appreciate others’ help. Essentially I want to have a
Default group, and then an Alumni group. Below is the relevant piece:

## Novell LDAP auth:
::LDAP
URL ldaps://[our ldap
server]/?cn?sub?(&(objectClass=person))(!(|(ou:dn:=accepted)))
IfUnauthenticated; Stop
Group Default
IfTest groupMembership ou:dn:=inactive Group +Alumni

When I test group membership, in the above scenario, it is not identifying
Alumni properly; everyone is getting put into the Default group.
